A few days ago I was scrolling through Facebook and came across someone’s post about getting their dog groomed at home. Say what?! I quickly clicked the link and saw something GENIUS – WONDERFUL – AWESOME – TERRIFIC! A year round mobile dog grooming business in Vermont! Yep! You read that right! A mobile dog grooming business that comes to your home, during the rain, sleet, mud, and Winter! I waited until the next morning (the self-control that was required here… intense!) to call Erin at Vroom Groom to set up an appointment.
Finally! A Year Round Mobile Dog Grooming Business in Vermont! Yipppeee!
Getting my dogs bathed and groomed is definitely on my “least favorite things” to do list. I could never take Maisey anywhere to be groomed because she has super high anxiety and gets carsick within 10 minutes of being in the car. *GAG*. Maggie just hates baths (see her face above); well, to be fair she’s only had maybe 1 or 2 total in her 2 years of life. Maisey likes baths but we would typically have to drag everything to the backyard to bathe her and living in Vermont that means maybe 2-3 times a year. GROSS! I know! But, my poor pup has high anxiety and I really didn’t want to stress her out. Additionally, bathing a Beagle or Gordon Setter in the bathtub is just not fun. I hate cleaning up the mess and all the hair that gets everywhere… No thank you!
Maisey has never been clipped!
Maisey and Maggie have never been professionally groomed, clipped, had nails grinded, teeth brushed, or anal glands cleaned. So, when Erin arrived I was honestly a little nervous about how the dogs were going to respond to such a fancy Spa Day.
Erin came to the door and the dogs were super excited, they greeted her with jumps (yes my dogs are jumpers), kisses and happy tail wagging. They followed her into her awesome bus that’s set up like a mini grooming salon complete with a huge bathtub, table, heated water, and all the grooming supplies a groomer needs.
The girls were so well behaved, it shocked me! I was waiting for some kind of explosion from Maisey. Nothing. Literally nothing. She sat there getting clipped, bathed, anal glands cleaned, ears cleaned, teeth brushed, nails clipped and nails grinded-down like she has been doing it for years! This Mama was impressed! Maggie was equally well behaved. Again, I was shocked, relieved and pleasantly surprised by their behavior. I was also super embarrassed about how dirty the bathtub was after they got out. The dirt, hair, and grime were rather alarming. Were my dogs really that dirty?! YIKES!
Erin was so great with them. She was talking to them, kissing them and hugging them during their Fancy Spa Day, which I know kept them calm and in great spirits. They really, really loved her! So, needless to say, we are scheduled for June to have another Spa Day with Vroom Groom for the pups. I’m looking forward to having clean, soft, fresh smelling puppies year round! Thank you Erin! I highly recommend if you live in Vermont!
Clean fresh smelling puppies!
