I’m almost 40 and I don’t have any wrinkles on my face. There. I said it (where I admit to being “almost 40”.) People often think I’m younger than I am and are typically shocked to hear how old I actually am.
I was shopping for makeup at Sephora with my daughter when we overheard a conversation between a Sephora employee and a woman in her late 40’s to early 50’s. The Sephora associate was trying to convince this woman to buy some pretty expensive anti-aging creams that contained retinol and probably a whole mess of chemicals that no one can pronounce. The total was well over $300 for 2 distinct products!
My daughter and I continued shopping as their loud-enough conversation continued; the woman was asking questions about retinol and if it would diminish the wrinkles near her eyes and mouth. The employee sounded very scripted and didn’t really give her any real answers. The woman eventually walked away from the associate and continued browsing through the store. I kept thinking to myself… “I should really tell her about the skincare line that I use because I don’t have any wrinkles on my face.”
I walked up to this woman and told her about the skincare line that I use (I also took my phone out and opened up the Amazon app to show her the products – visuals help!) She was shocked to hear that I was using an anti-aging skincare line because she thought I was in my 20’s! Umm… Nope! I’m turning 37 this year. She couldn’t believe it! She started telling me that she started getting wrinkles in her early 30’s. She promptly put down the Sephora products once she saw what I use. She ordered the entire line right then and there. She thanked me for coming up to her and recommending the products and couldn’t wait to start using them. I felt really good about helping her. Note: I’m not against Sephora products, clearly, given that I was shopping there myself, but sometimes the right product for the right customer is in direct opposition with what a particular brand is offering.
Why I don’t have any wrinkles on my face:
I was searching Google a little over a year ago, looking for something to heal some of my acne scarrings from 10 years ago. I didn’t really have acne when I was a teen but ended up having hormonal cystic acne when I was pregnant with my son. I refused to use harsh chemicals or products to get rid of it. So, I suffered silently… well, not totally in silence. My skin became the topic of conversation quite often, with friends and family. Plus, I whined a lot about it. I felt very ashamed, embarrassed, and just wanted to hide behind layers of foundations and concealers.
Desperately wanting the acne and scarring gone, I spent thousands of dollars on Chemical Peels, Micro-dermabrasions, and countless Facials over the years and nothing was working. I still had acne and I still had scars.
I searched and searched (local stores and the greater Internet) because I wanted a skincare line that was organic/all-natural. I finally came across a product called Amara Organics. No, I’m not sponsored by them nor am I getting paid directly by them to tell you how much I love their products (although my links to Amazon will always be affiliate-links). I genuinely love their skincare line.
Several weeks ago, I recommended the Amara Organics skin care line to my Mother-in-law. She’s been using it for nearly 2 months and has noticed a tremendous difference in her skin. My daughter has been using it for over 6 months and her acne has faded, scars are fading, and she isn’t as oily.
And as for me:
My acne is long gone, I don’t have any wrinkles on my face and my scars are fading. My skin hasn’t looked this good in over 10 years! I can actually leave the house without foundation and gobs of concealers.
I truly believe these products help keep the wrinkles at bay, along with diet, exercise, and lots of water.
